Kate Maxwell

Kate graduated from Liverpool University Veterinary School and completed a short stint in mixed practice before pursuing a solely equine based veterinary career. She worked at the Royal Veterinary College in London at the equine referral hospital where she was involved with a high medical and surgical caseload including colic surgeries, orthopaedic emergencies and intensive care cases.

Following this Kate moved to Epsom downs to work in an equine practice specialising in racehorse work. She is particularly interested in equine lameness investigation, orthopaedic problems and poor performance work-ups.

Following the successful completion of exams Kate was awarded her General Practitioners Certificate in Equine Practice. The certificate is awarded by the European School of Practising Veterinary Surgeons and highlights Severn Edge Equine Vets' commitment to providing the highest standards of clinical excellence.

Having worked in London and Surrey Kate returned to the family farm and founded Bind Equine Veterinary Practice. On December 1st 2014 Bind Equine merged with Severn Edge Equine Vets, where she continues to practice.

In September 2016, Kate was voted onto the council of the British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) and sits on both the clinical practice and education committees.
